Is it reasonable for airlines to charge for bags, meals and other services?

- The airlines justify deep discount fares as a way to justify a la cart pricing. Last I checked, making concessions with reduced flexibility, no refunds, saturday night stays, minimum stays, and advance bookings was the price paid for a lower fare.

- I could handle a fee for the second checked bag, but introducing a charge, then increasing it 20-30% in a year is going way too far!
